During our MSW study, we were blessed with yet another unforgettable event: a ten-day residential workshop on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) held in the mesmerizing Thirunelli, Wayanad. This transformative experience introduced us to the enchantment of PRA, guided by the esteemed resource person, Jacob Sir, and the incredible wisdom of the local community—the ultimate wellspring of knowledge.
Nestled deep within the forest, our stay in Thirunelli was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The magic of nature enveloped us as we immersed ourselves in this unique learning environment. However, even amidst the enchantment, we were reminded of the fragility of our existence when encountering wild animals near the panchayat building on the banks of Kabani River. Though it left us with haunting memories, it also served as a powerful testament to the untamed beauty of the surroundings.
The lessons we learnt from this workshop were invaluable, shaping our perspectives and forever altering the trajectory of our lives. Each moment was steeped in significance, carrying the potential to be truly life-changing. The memories we forged during that time are etched into our hearts, destined to withstand the passage of time.
As we reflect on that transformative period, we carry with us the cherished moments, the friendship we shared, and the knowledge that unfolded like a precious gift. The Thirunelli workshop will forever remain a beacon of inspiration, reminding us of the power of community, the lessons of nature, and the profound impact that can arise from immersing ourselves in unfamiliar territory.
Those days have become part of our collective narrative, forever etching their indelible mark upon our souls. The memories we created during that time will endure, serving as a testament to the growth, resilience, and deep connections forged in the midst of Thirunelli's enchanting embrace.
